The Customary Chief and Headman are responsible for protecting the health and safety of those residing on Ojibway Nation of Saugeen reserve lands. This notice is intended to provide PUBLIC NOTICE to residents and non-residents alike who are non-compliant with the COVID-19 Pandemic Protocols in place to protect the community.
The COVID-19 Pandemic Team is moving cautiously while the province of Ontario is moving into step 3. We will continue with the Visitor Request forms and we will re-evaluate in two (2) weeks. There will be no changes with our current protocols.
Continue to follow all safety precautions, hand sanitize, wear a mask, and social distance.
Please treat our checkpoint security with respect and be patient as they perform their job.
Thank you all for your cooperation as we work hard to protect your health and safety.

COVID-19 Emergency Funding
Effective July 2, 2021, ONS will open to non-residents with restrictions - June 21, 2021
The Customary Chief and Headmen, along with all staff, have been working hard to keep our Community and Members safe from the Global COVID-19 Pandemic. Ojibway Nation of Saugeen applied for the emergency COVID funding from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) at the end of March 2020, and received confirmation from Canada last week on the amount and this morning on the terms attached to those funds.
The following plan has been prepared by ONS in response to the pandemic.
ONS NEW Custom Governance Code Working Group
UPDATE: We want to report that we are moving quickly with our NEW Governance Code Working Group and will be announcing names soon. Please be aware that Desiree Jacko is NOT part of the NEW working group and no ratificiation vote will be conducted based on her Survey Monkey results. All ONS community members are encouraged to reach out to participate in the legitimate NEW working group.
Thank you for participating in the membership survey. Your contributions are important and will all be considered in drafting ONS’s Governance Code. Winners of the $50 draw are Kevin Machimity, Crystal Lynn Necan and Andrew Steven Belmore.
The Ojibway Nation of Saugeen's most important asset are their employees, community members and Elders.
Our policies, procedures, and guidelines are intended to help you better understand your workplace.
